The Regional Championships this year returned to Bushfield Leisure Centre the attendance was high with 300 competitors from White belt to E Dan. Cambridge & Impiington Clubs were represented but with fewer competitors than usual. However those that entered did very well. It was a very good day enjoyed by all who attended, the event starting on time with Black Belt weapons, moving on through the Gup grade weapons, followed by the Team Forms for which there was a very good turn out. These divisions were followed by the opening ceremony where Master Green acted as MC and introduced all the Masters and Regional instructors. Following a welcome speak by Master Khan, and a demonstration of the rules, the rest of the competition got under way, after the return of the Grand Champion Cups, with the White and Orange belt juniors, right through to the final Black Belt Hyungs and Sparring divisions. The Club with the most input went narrowly to Northern TSD who pipped Chipping Sodbury by one person. After the competition those of us left at the end visited Chiquitos for an after championship meal.
Well done to those who entered, keep it up, remember there is a lot you can learn from competitions.
