What does a class consist of:-
Classes are taught in a formal style and start of a warm up, consisting of a combination of aerobic and power exercises, designed to ready the body for the next part of the class. This consists of drills for both hand techniques, kick techniques, and combinations of both, pad work, co-ordination drills, hyungs(patterns of moves which are part of the syllabus), one step sparring with both hand and foot, self defence, free sparring, and weapons from Brown belt and above. Tang Soo Do is a semi contact martial art with the emphasis placed on focus and control.

Tang Soo Do classes are for all, both adults of all ages and juniors from 7 years upwards. The classes are mixed with adults and juniors training together, this provides an opportunity for families to train together. Our clubs are family orientated with an emphasis on discipline and respect.

All Instructors in the class are DBS checked, First Aid Trained and have up to date Safeguarding Training. Adults will normally partner with adults and Junors normally with Juniors, however, if the necessity arises for an adult to train with a Junior, so that they can learn, then the adult will be DBS certified.

Students from the club have competed in the British Regional, National, European & World Championships on a number of occasions since the club was formed, winning many gold, silver and bronze trophies.

At the 2026 World Championships a number of students competed in all disciplines, bringing home a host of gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

New students are always welcome - we provide three free trial classes, just come along to any of the classes listed above. No special clothing is required for beginners, just wear something comfortable for exercising such as jogging bottoms and a T shirt.
